On June 14, 2025, shortly after 9:00 a.m., an explosive incident occurred on the Erzgebirgsbahn on the route from Freiberg to Chemnitz. A 49-year-old man, known to the police, caused a stir by insulting the train conductor and other passengers, kicking a bicycle and pushing a person. When the situation escalated, the train attendant stopped the journey at Flöha station and informed the Chemnitz Federal Police Inspectorate.
The emergency services were quickly able to confront the aggressive passenger on a neighboring platform. Not only provocative behavior was found in him, but also a crystalline substance. The man who is banned from train stations and from transport is now being held responsible.
