Mini solar systems: Free advice on October 13th in UIZ Leipzig!

On October 2, 2025, an information event on mini solar systems will take place in the environmental information center of the city of Leipzig (UIZ). From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., experts answer the Consumer center Saxony and the Association for Ecological Building Leipzig e.V. Free questions about topics such as costs, technology, installation, funding and legal requirements.

The event offers an excellent opportunity for tenants and apartment owners to find out more about plug solar devices. These mini solar systems, also known as a balcony PV modules, are relatively cheap and can generate up to 350 kilowatt hours of solar power every year. This amount corresponds to the annual consumption of a refrigerator and a washing machine, which makes it an attractive option for many households.

The event mentioned is at ground level and wheelchair accessible, which enables participation for everyone interested. Since the number of participants is limited, prior registration is recommended. Interest in mini solar systems is growing, which Dr. Gerd Lippold, State Secretary in the State Ministry of Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture (Smekul). He welcomes the increasing demand for such systems and the associated advice. At an earlier information event in the Leipzig city library, around 120 interested parties took part, which were able to ask individual questions about technology, installation and the costs.

Meaning of the mini solar systems

The topic of energy transition and participation is under discussion. Another energy expert, Denis Schneiderheinze from the Consumer Center, and Lutz unknown from the Association for Ecological Building, the participants informed about the conditions for installation. Andreas Eichhorst from the Saxony Consumer Center emphasized the importance of individual contributions to the energy transition and the planned Saxon promotion of balcony PV systems. Such developments show that self -realization in the area of ​​renewable energies is becoming increasingly important.

The trend towards individual solutions such as mini solar systems stands for a conscious step towards more sustainable ways of life and shows that tenants and residents of apartments can also contribute to the energy transition.
