On the night of June 28th to June 29th, 2025, a remarkable theft was reported in Schönau am Königssee. Unknown perpetrators stole two bicycles that were parked on a metal railing behind the Grillstüberl restaurant on Seestrasse. The first bicycle stolen is a dark gray Pedelec from the Cube brand, whose value is estimated at around 2,500 euros. The second bike is a black, full-suspension mountain bike from Canyon, which is worth around 1000 euros. Both bicycles were securely locked to the railing at the time of the theft.
