Young creatives in the spotlight: Saxon Night of Youth Cultures!

On September 19th and 20th, 2025, Saxony will be dedicated to youth culture. The event at:puls – Saxon Night of Youth Cultures invites young people between the ages of 14 and 27 to take part in a variety of creative activities. The event is organized by the State Association for Cultural Children and Youth Education (LKJ) Saxony e.V., supported by the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Social Cohesion.

A total of 36 campaigns are being carried out throughout the Free State, which aim to promote and make visible youth cultural engagement, particularly in rural regions of Saxony. The funding of up to 500 euros per campaign shows the state's commitment to this cultural initiative. A youth jury decided on the funded projects on August 3, 2025.

A variety of activities throughout Saxony

The Saxon Night of Youth Cultures is organized decentrally, with each action offering the opportunity for young people to actively participate. This includes DJ workshops, song contests, dance formats and creative redesigns. Special highlights include:

    • Augustusburg: Druck dich aus – LinoNacht
    • Naunhof: Burger & Basteln
    • Löbnitz: Fußballdisco
    • Riesa: Skate & Create
  • 20. September 2025:
    • Bad Schlema: Skatepark Upgrade
    • Grimma: Walls talk – Jugend, Kunst, Protest
    • Auerbach: Tekk Valley
    • Ursprung: #UR:Art
    • Hartha: Eröffnung BMX-Strecke

In addition, international youth projects are supported as part of the event. An international youth festival entitled “Concrete Bloom” is planned for October 8th to 12th, 2025 in Chemnitz. This is directly related to the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, for which there has been close cooperation since 2023.

Invitation to participate

The Saxon Night of Youth Cultures is aimed particularly at young people from places with up to 40,000 inhabitants. The event not only offers a space for creative development, but also a platform to illuminate the cultural interests and expressions of young people in the region.
