BMW burned down in Leipzig-Leutzsch-investigations run!

On Sunday evening, September 22, 2025, several fire incidents occurred in Leipzig, which the fire brigade kept up. Around 10:45 p.m., a parked car on Franz-Flemming-Straße in Leipzig-Leutzsch went up in flames. The police immediately received an emergency call and quickly moved out to the burning BMW X3. The Böhlitz-Ehrenberg fire brigade was also on site and was able to prevent the fire from attacking neighboring vehicles. Despite its efforts, the car burned out completely. There is currently no information about the exact amount of damage. The burned -down car was towed to secure evidence, and the police are planning to use a fire -caused investigator to clarify the cause of the fire. Loud LVZ Could be suspected of arson.

The fire brigade was also called for another fire earlier on the same day at 6:08 p.m. A basement compartment had caught fire in an apartment building on the Schönauer Ring, near the first incident. The fire brigade was able to quickly control the flames, so that all apartments in the prefabricated building remained habitable and there were no injuries. The residents of the affected house had to be temporarily evacuated. As with the fire in Leutzsch, the amount of property damage is not yet known, and the investigation into the cause of the fire is in full swing, such as Tag24 reported.

Investigations and suspected arson

In both cases, the criminal police have initiated investigations, especially because of the suspicion of arson. Since there are two fires in a relatively short time, the investigators are trying to examine a possible connection between the incidents. While in the case of the basement fire, the fire brigade quickly gained control of the situation, the damage to the BMW fire was clearly more serious because the vehicle was completely destroyed.

The incidents show how important the rapid reaction of the emergency services is in such emergency situations. The fire brigade did an excellent job not only when the fires were extinguished, but also when protecting the surrounding property. In the coming days, the police will continue the ongoing investigations to clarify the causes of the fires and identify possible perpetrators.
