On September 1, 2025, an exciting day for the main customs office in Dresden, when the head, Franz Horak, welcomed 46 new candidates. Of the newcomers, nine dual studies begin to study in high -rise service, while 37 start training in medium service. Throughout the country, impressive 1,700 young people were ceremoniously sworn in as prospective customs officers!
The dual degree in customs lasts three years and ends with the conclusion “Bachelor of Law” (LL.B.), while training in the middle service lasts two years and qualifies to the professional title of finance hosts. The theory is taught at the federal university for public administration in Münster and the training centers of the Education and Science Center of the Federal Finance Administration in Erfurt, Leipzig and other cities. These young forces expect exciting tasks that are of crucial importance not only for tax revenue, but also for consumer protection and digitization of the management.
