Border controls: arrests and fines at the Bad Muskau transition

Last weekend, the federal police carried out several arrests as part of the border controls introduced. A 45-year-old Algerier was stopped at the Nießen on Saturday at the motorway control point. When checking his personal details, it turned out that he was defeated by the Constance public prosecutor's office. The man was sentenced to a fine of 1,200 euros for unauthorized stays without a residence permit, which he immediately paid and then continued his journey.

At the same time, a Polish citizen who had an open fine of 120 euros was stopped at the Bad Muskau border crossing. He also settled his debts at the state treasury and was allowed to continue traveling. The border controls successfully show the enforcement of existing laws and the procedure against unauthorized stays.
