Twice the thrill: German Para Badminton Championships in Leipzig!
Preparations for the 2nd German Para Badminton Championship, which will take place in Leipzig on November 15th and 16th, 2025, are already in full swing. This important event will be held in the school sports hall of the Johanna Moosdorf School and organized by ATV Volkmarsdorf 90 e.V. in collaboration with the German Badminton Association (DBV). The championship is aimed at athletes with different disabilities and will offer a wide range of competitions.
The event starts on Thursday, November 13, 2025, with an open training for participants from 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, November 15th, the official opening will take place at 10:00 a.m., followed by mixed doubles and singles competitions. On Sunday, November 16th, the doubles competitions will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The award ceremony also takes place on Sunday.
Categories and registration
Athletes can compete in multiple categories including WH1, WH2, SL3, SL4, SU5 and SH6. Interested athletes must register using the DBV's online registration form, with the registration deadline being November 7, 2024. Registration is also required for supervisors and helpers.
Special conditions such as medical care and physiotherapy as well as on-site wheelchair service are offered to participants. Spectators are welcome to support the athletes' athleticism and competitive spirit. The schedule for the championship is:
- 13.11.2025: 20:00–21:45 – Offenes Training
- 15.11.2025: 08:00–10:00 – Klassifizierung
- 15.11.2025: 10:00–18:00 – Vorrundenspiele
- 16.11.2025: 09:00–16:00 – Finalspiele & Siegerehrung
