Leipzig celebrates love and diversity at the CSD 2025 - 20,000 participants expected!
Augustusplatz, 04109 Leipzig, Deutschland - On June 28, 2025, the Leipzig CSD week ends with a highlight: a large final rally and parade in the city center. The Christopher Street Day (CSD) is expected to collect around 20,000 participants who stand up for love, diversity and freedom. The entire event is planned from 11 a.m. to around 5 p.m. and will transform the city center of the city into a festive sea of colors and signs of acceptance.
The event is led by a rally on Augustusplatz, which begins at 11:30 a.m. From there, a demonstration route via Prague Strasse, Center Südost, Bayerischer Platz and Leuschnerplatz will lead back to the city center. From 4 p.m. there will also be a street festival on Augustusplatz, which crowns the celebrations.a sign of equality
The Leipziger CSD has campaigned this year and in previous years for freedom, acceptance and diversity. The main goal of the event is the complete legal equality as well as the social recognition of all people who are outside of sexual and/or gender norm. This message swings through all speeches and activities during the CSD event.
At the same time, the organizers are in the tradition of the CSD, which commemorates the uprising of the homo- and transsexual community in New York on June 28, 1969. In this context, the presence of around 20,000 people who stand up for their rights and for solidarity together is particularly important.
traffic disruptions and security measures
The city expects traffic disruptions in the center for the event and recommends that visitors use public transport. In order to make the event secure, the police have excluded right -wing extremist counter -demonstrators from a large part of the city area. This is intended to ensure that the celebrations can take place in a peaceful framework.
