Hambergen celebrates a grandiose 114th shooting festival on the Pentecost weekend!
The 114th shooting festival will be celebrated in Hambergen next Pentecost weekend. [weser-kurier.de] reports that this traditional event begins on Whit Saturday, May 27th. The celebrations have deep roots in the community and attract large numbers of visitors who come to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Preparations for the festival are already in full swing. The board of the Hambergen shooting club, led by Denis Kühn, has prepared extensive celebrations. Catching up with last year's majesties and shooting out the new royal family are among the highlights of the day. The advance shooting of the bird parts begins on Whitsun Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The shooting sports facility also underwent a refurbishment and construction operation on May 31st, followed by a tent being set up on Thursday and the hall being decorated on Friday.
Festival program
The shooting festival offers a varied program. The shooting program will be opened at 2:30 p.m. by sports director Martin Puckhaber, followed by the royal shooting competition, which will take place from 5 p.m. On Whit Sunday, May 28th, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the memorial at 11 a.m. The parade will be followed by musical accompaniment by the Schweiburg Music Association, before the shooting program continues at 2:30 p.m. The royal proclamation and the distribution of medals are scheduled for 7 p.m.
The prizes for the participants are varied: They range from medals to non-cash prizes to cash prizes and even include a “mettwurst slice” for the spectators. The reigning royal family will also donate a check for 200 euros. The preliminary shooting on Saturday will be exciting for the youth shooters under the direction of Kai Hofmeister and Sandra Puckhaber.
Community and tradition
On Whit Monday, guests are invited to hangover shooting and eating fish; breakfast is offered at 9 a.m. Participation in the tomcat shooting costs 17.50 euros and registration is required. A prize distribution will take place on June 6th at 7:30 p.m. at the shooting range.
Parallel to the festivities in Hambergen, the Oldendorf shooting club is also celebrating its shooting festival on the same weekend, June 7th and 8th. This represents another opportunity for the community to come together and maintain the tradition of shooting. [weserreport.de] shows that the gathering of the kings and an extensive festival program with bird shooting for children and young people will also take place here in the “Zum Neues Esch” shooting range.
The festival in Oldendorf ends with a shooting ball where DJ Dörpbeat provides entertainment and entry is free. Such traditions not only promote a sense of togetherness among residents, but also contribute to the vibrant culture in the region.
