Vincenzo Richter: Chemnitz Identitarian Movement is planning major actions

A new stronghold of the Identitarian Movement (IB) has formed in Chemnitz, under the leadership of Vincenzo Richter, who is only 26 years old. The founder and chairman of the Chemnitz IB, born on April 10, 1999, is not only active in his hometown, but also studies communication psychology at the IU International University in online format. The IB founded its local group in Chemnitz, and the first meetings took place in Richter's own apartment.

Richter's parents are also heavily involved in the IB's activities. His mother, Beate Porsche, was a member of the Chemnitz IB's first Telegram group. From these family foundations, Richter and his colleagues organized various painting activities and demonstrations, some of which took place in his parents' companies. A special project was the support of a memorial stone for the bombing of Dresden by one of the parents' companies.

New spaces and activities

The Identitarian Movement recently acquired premises on Edisonstrasse in the Schönau district of Chemnitz. Flags of the IB and Germany are already hanging on the walls of the new location. At the end of November, a new Telegram channel was launched that returns a “center for counterculture and activism”. Events such as regulars' tables, book presentations and bar evenings are planned there, which are intended to further strengthen the movement's activities. With this step, the IB wants to intensify its presence and networking not only locally, but also nationally.

The acquisition of these premises did not come without a stir: the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution found out about the purchase at the beginning of 2023, but only recognized the exact purpose of the property in October. It is believed that the IB wants to use the new premises not only for meetings, but also for concerts. The investors behind this project include an entrepreneurial company led by Vincenzo Richter and Philip T. The IB also receives support from the real estate company Schanze Eins, which specifically wants to attract investors to purchase additional properties.

Resistance and setbacks

While the Identitarian movement is gaining a foothold in Chemnitz, one looks back at what happened in Halle an der Saale, where setbacks were experienced. The IB had to sell a townhouse there after strong resistance. This shows that active resistance from city society and committed activists who want to fight against extremist efforts must also be expected in Chemnitz.

The development of the Identitarian Movement in Chemnitz goes hand in hand with the rise of Vincenzo Richter, who was appointed chairman of IB Germany on April 22, 2024. His work is characterized by a variety of activities, including anti-corona demonstrations with his own banners and the organization of the IB 2024 summer camp in the Erzgebirge. The movement has made a name for itself in the past through staged demonstrations and national slogans. Richter most recently appeared as a speaker at the Free Saxons' demo at the opening of the Cultural Capital Chemnitz on January 18, 2025 and thus uses every opportunity to propagate the ideals of the IB.Indymedia.de reports that ...
