Tauzie-Sensation in Schönau: championship and festival for everyone!

The weekend of July 19 and 20, 2025 takes place in Schönau, Oberfeld, the Tauzie-Grümpel tournament and the German championship. Organized by the Tauziebreunde Böllen, the event promises exciting competitions and sociable get -together for the whole family.

The first day, Saturday, starts with a hobby down tournament. The participants will be weighed from 5 p.m. before the tournament begins at 6:30 p.m. Teams of 6 to 10 people, with a maximum weight of 555 kg, can participate. A special Highlight is the price for first place: proud 50 liters of beer! In addition, food vouchers are awarded for the second and third place-placed and award-winning costumes. The starting fee is 20 euros and sturdy footwear is required.

competitions on Sunday

On Sunday, July 20, it is about the German championship title in the German Teugen League. This competition, which is held in the 640 kg class, starts at 11 a.m. An entertaining program is offered for children, including a children's tractor pull at 1 p.m. and a bouncy castle. Afterwards, a tournament will take place in the 680 kg class as part of the Landesliga Baden.

tug of war: a traditional sport

Tug -pull has a long tradition and was part of the modern Olympic Games from 1900 to 1920. Today it is operated as a professional sport in Germany. Typically, a team consists of eight athletes, a coach and a supervisor. There are various age and weight classes as well as mixed competitions. A dew rope has a length of at least 33.5 meters and a circumference between 100 and 125 mm and consists of materials such as hemp, sisal or synthetic fiber. The aim of the game is to pull the opposing team over a distance of four meters to achieve a point.

The event in Schönau will not only be a party for Teugie-lovers, but also an opportunity for the whole family to experience an exciting competition. It will certainly be an unforgettable weekend full of sporting highlights and community spirit.
