From Wednesday, August 13th, the main street in Fischbach will be closed for almost a month. The closure takes place at the junction with Hildegardstrasse and is necessary in order to expand Hildegardstrasse and to lay sewer and water pipes. A half-way closure cannot be carried out because the remaining road width does not meet the legal minimum requirements. The diversion will be set up via Schönau. Local mayor David Leidner has expressed his dissatisfaction with this solution. The closure should be completed by September 5th at the latest, as rheinpfalz.de reports.
This measure is part of a larger context of traffic disruptions currently taking place in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district and beyond. For example, the B 19 in Meiningen will be completely closed from April 7th to 25th due to road maintenance work, which will require major diversions and can significantly impact traffic. Closure-related traffic disruptions have also been expected on other roads, such as the B 62 in Zella-Mehlis, since the beginning of April. In particular, the extensive work on water pipes and the laying of fiber optic cables is leading to sometimes significant restrictions in many regions.

- L 1026 OD Seligenthal: Vollsperrung bis 30. Oktober wegen Kanal- und Straßenbau.
- K 84 Schwallungen: Vollsperrung bis Ende 2025 wegen Kanal- und Straßenbaus.
