Delivery stop at cheerful view: Görlitz is worried about new trams!
The Alstom plant in Görlitz has announced that it does not deliver any other car boxes on the insolvent tram manufacturer Heitenblick in Leipzig. This decision was confirmed by a company spokesman for MDR Saxony and is part of the company's ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. Alstom stated that central contractual components had not been fulfilled, but without naming detailed reasons. Jeerlick himself emphasizes that you adhere to the requirements of bankruptcy law.
The delivery stop represents a considerable setback for a cheerful view, which urgently needs car boxes for a large order from Leipzig transport companies over 25 XXL tracks. In the background there are also orders from Zwickau and Görlitz, which could now be in danger. The Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer said in a citizens' dialogue that he no longer expected Görlitz to receive the trams ordered at a cheerful view. Nevertheless, Kretschmer assured that the bankruptcy proceedings do not endanger the planned procurement of new trams for Görlitz and other Saxon cities.
future deliveries and new advertisements
should actually not be able to deliver cheerful views, says Kretschmer, neither will be lost nor the project. The left-wing parliamentary group in the Görlitz city council has already asked the country to support cheerful views and to put the infrastructure measures for Görlitz in the foreground. The city of Görlitz announced that it was still under discussion with all the actors involved in order to negotiate the best possible solution.
Prime Minister Kretschmer also expressed doubts about the delivery of Heitenblick and recommended a new advertisement of the tram contracts by the Görlitz transport companies (GVB). The managing director of Weißenblick, Samuel Kermelk, has not responded to press inquiries for days, and Volker Heck, the external spokesman for the insolvency administrator Andreas Kleinschmidt, also remained silent about the inquiries for Kretschmer's statement. Nevertheless, Heck explained that an order fulfillment for Görlitz was possible if everyone involved adheres to their previous statements.
Heiterblick strives to fulfill all existing contracts in the best possible way and have discussions with the state government and potential investors. However, the next steps must now be carefully considered in order to stabilize the situation and to meet the needs of cities, especially Görlitz. It remains to be seen how things will continue with the new trams.
