Caution! Fraudsters lure seniors with false profit promises

On Friday, June 20, 2025, a senior citizen from Schönau became victim of unscrupulous fraudsters, who promised her huge gain of several tens of thousands of euros on the phone. But the profit had its price: the fraudsters asked the woman to buy Apple voucher cards worth several thousand euros and pass on the codes on the phone. Tragically, the senior citizen came up with the demands and transmitted the valuable codes.

The police are alarm and urges such misleading promise of profit. It appeals to the citizens of being vigilant and not being put under pressure from monetary claims. Important: to spend money in order to receive a supposed profit is a big risk! Do not give a personal data on the phone and do not be fooled - the code on the voucher cards is enough to redeem the monetary value! Be careful and protect yourself from fraud!
