In Zittau the police have been in a state of emergency since Tuesday morning! The reason for this is the investigation into a spectacular robbery that took place on June 13, 2025. Two men are in focus: A 35-year-old Lebanese man was arrested on the evening of the crime and is in custody. Now the police have also caught the second main suspect, a 36-year-old German, thanks to an existing arrest warrant.
The police action is large-scale! Officers from the Görlitz Police Department, the State Criminal Police Office and the riot police are searching several properties in the city. The investigation is in full swing while the security forces are doing everything they can to clarify the background to the robbery. Citizens can breathe a sigh of relief – it’s the police’s turn!
