Last weekend, the border controls in Reitzenhain led to several arrests by the federal police. The entry of a 31-year-old Serbian citizen was particularly dramatic who had already been convicted of armed theft at the Hamburg District Court. Since he could not pay the due fine of 2,535 euros, he landed directly in the correctional facility.
Also among the controls was a 28-year-old Romanian citizen who was searched for with an arrest warrant for theft. It was sentenced to a fine of EUR 827.50, but was able to pay the amount directly on site and was then allowed to continue her trip.
