Violent crimes on railway systems: New ban on knives etc.
The violence on railway facilities is becoming increasingly threatening! The Pirna Federal Police Directorate has therefore issued a strict order that prohibits the carrying of dangerous objects such as knives, irritant gases and impact weapons. This ban comes into force on November 14, 2025 and is valid until December 22, 2025, always from Friday to Sunday between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following day.
The aim of this drastic measure is to protect travelers, station users and emergency services. The federal police will carry out strict controls, and violations will not only result in the confiscation of the prohibited items, but also high fines or criminal proceedings. Posters at Leipzig main station will also point out the ban. Safety first!
