Customs warns of dangerous fireworks from abroad that do not meet German safety standards. Find out more!

The turn of the year is approaching and the fireworks warehouse is filling up – but be careful! The main customs office in Dresden warns of dangerous fireworks from abroad that do not meet German safety standards. Every year, customs officials confiscate countless unauthorized and sometimes extremely risky pyrotechnics. This year alone, almost 1.4 tons of banned fireworks have been seized, including 764 kilograms transported by a Czech truck driver on December 16th.
Florian Thürmer from the main customs office urgently emphasizes the dangers: “Fireworks without a traceable origin or without a CE marking are unpredictable and can lead to serious injuries.” The risks are real – burns, chemical burns and even loss of limbs and eyesight are possible consequences. Investors should be well informed and pay attention to safety before buying!
