Several incidents occurred in Leipzig on June 17, 2025, which concerned the police in the region. The events included break-ins, a traffic accident and a stolen wheel loader, which was fortunately quickly recovered.

A serious incident that brought the police to the scene was a break-in at a daycare center in the center-southeast of Leipzig. Unknown perpetrators broke into the facility between June 13, 2025, 5 p.m. and June 16, 2025, 6:30 a.m. and stole items worth around 1,000 euros. The total damage amounts to over 7,000 euros. The criminal police have started an investigation into a particularly serious theft and secured traces on site in order to track down the perpetrators, according to reports LZ.

Burglaries and escapes in the pond

Another incident occurred on Morungenstrasse / Knautnaundorfer Strasse in Knautkleeberg-Knauthain, where people tried to break into cigarette machines on the same day. The witness who called the police saw three men breaking in. When the officers arrived, the perpetrators fled, one of whom (31 years old) was caught, while the other two (23 and 32 years old) jumped into a nearby pond. Police surrounded the area and the two escapees were eventually caught. Despite the break-up, there was still some property damage, which has not yet been quantified as there was no theft, reported LZ.

In addition, there was another break-in on Georg-Schumann-Straße in Leipzig-Möckern on the night of June 16, 2025, where unknown perpetrators tried to break into slot machines and caused property damage of around 16,000 euros. Traffic accidents and stolen vehicles

A traffic accident occurred on Augustusplatz on June 16, 2025, in which a pedestrian (39 years old) was slightly injured. Another incident was the theft of a wheel loader in Rackwitz between June 13 and 16, 2025.
