On Saturday evening, November 9th, 2025, around 10 p.m. there was a serious traffic accident in Leipzig-Wiederitzsch at the intersection of Maximilianallee/Messe-Allee. A Mercedes A-Class, driven by a 25-year-old woman, and a Toyota Carina, driven by an 87-year-old man, collided. The Mercedes was traveling on Maximilianallee in the direction of Federal Motorway 14 and intended to turn left, while the Toyota was driving along Messe-Allee in the direction of Neue Messe. Both drivers were injured in the accident; The 25-year-old had to be taken to hospital, the 87-year-old received medical help on site.
The police estimate the property damage at around 15,000 euros. The traffic accident service has started an investigation into negligent bodily harm. The exact cause of the accident is currently unclear, which further intensifies the investigation.
