On Tuesday morning, August 13, 2025, a traffic accident occurred in Leipzig-Wiederitzsch in which a 64-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car. The incident happened at 6:50 a.m. when the man wanted to cross Karl-Marx-Straße. A 55-year-old driver of a Toyota Corolla hit the pedestrian, who was then injured and had to be taken to hospital for medical treatment.
