VW Golf collision in Leipzig: 29-year-old slightly injured!

On September 11, 2025, an accident occurred in Leipzig's southern suburbs, which resulted in minor injuries for a 29-year-old driver of a VW Golf. The incident happened on Thursday afternoon on Kurt-Eisner-Straße in the westbound direction. A 41-year-old man wanted to turn left onto Altenburger Straße when the light was green and overlooked the oncoming VW Golf, which was also driving on green. The 29-year-old had the right of way at that moment and was unable to avoid the collision.

The consequences of the accident were quickly determined: the driver was treated on site as an outpatient and the total damage to the two vehicles amounts to around 13,000 euros. The police have started an investigation into negligent bodily harm against the 41-year-old who caused the accident. As the Leipziger Volkszeitung reports, weather conditions and visibility were particularly an issue among the witnesses to the accident.

Another accident in Holzhausen

The incident in the southern suburb is not the only one that has kept the police busy this week. On Friday morning there was another serious accident in the Holzhausen district. An 83-year-old German driver of a Mercedes failed to give way to a 56-year-old driver of a Peugeot van at the Liebertwolkwitzer Strasse intersection. After the collision, both vehicles came to rest in a property wall, which sustained significant damage.

The injured in this accident are the 83-year-old driver, his 78-year-old passenger and a 39-year-old passenger of the van. All three had to be treated as outpatients in hospital. The property damage is estimated at 45,000 euros and both vehicles had to be towed away. The traffic accident service is also investigating here on suspicion of negligent bodily harm, as Blick.de reports.

Both accidents illustrate the risks in road traffic and the importance of obeying traffic signs and right-of-way rules. The police appeal to all road users to always be vigilant and follow traffic regulations to avoid such tragic incidents.
