Dresden: 950 apartments modernized - waste problems finally solved!
In a comprehensive modernization project, Vonovia has renovated 22 houses with a total of 950 apartments in Dresden in Dresden. The work that cost around 70 million euros not only include the renewal of the insulation for facades and ceilings, but also significant improvements for the residents. Around 1900 tenants benefit from new balcony systems as well as burglar-inhibiting cellar doors and video interpretations. These measures increase the comfort and safety of the concerns.
It is particularly noteworthy that the average rent increase after the renovation work is 1.28 euros per square meter. The square meter price rose from 6.44 euros to 7.72 euros, while new tenants now have to pay 8.80 euros per square meter. This price development shows how investments in the quality of living space can also affect rents.improved waste disposal
Another central concern of the project was to fix the problems with waste disposal in the South suburb. The garbage spaces were redesigned to improve the accessibility for children and wheelchair users. Uwe honestly from the Dresden city cleaning was able to report that the changes have met with positive response. Pictograms for waste separation in German, English and Arabic are attached to the new garbage sites to promote the concept of cleanliness and order.
Not only the physical conditions of the residential complexes have been improved. Vonovia also took measures in terms of energy efficiency that benefit both the environment and the tenants. The company introduces the heating temperature at night in gas central heating. This affects around 55 percent of heating in Vonovia houses. The heating output is reduced between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., while the hot water supply from this measure remains unaffected. This adaptation, which is carried out by Vonovia Monteors as part of the routine maintenance, can save up to 8 percent of the heating effort. This is a step to relieve tenants and to combat bottlenecks in natural gas supply.
Overall, the project in University Strasse shows the commitment of Vonovia not only to increase quality of living, but also to implement environmentally conscious measures that are intended to serve as a model for other quarters in Dresden. The positive feedback from the tenant suggests that these approaches are certainly encouraged and improve living together in the city.
