Sandau, Deutschland - On Tuesday evening there was a dramatic incident in Sandau on the Elbe. A car rolled from a ferry and sank into the floods. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when the water protection police suspected that the vehicle failure had led to this unfortunate event. However, the driver was able to save himself in time and remained unharmed, but was completely soaked.

The vehicle drove about 150 meters downstream before it went down and landed in the betting channel of the Elbe. Emergency services from the police, fire brigade and the DLRG, including divers, were quickly mobilized to secure the car under water. The vehicle was finally recovered on Wednesday afternoon, and fortunately no oil or fuel stepped into the Elbe. Despite the dangers, the ferry operation remained undisturbed, while the area was closed to shipping.

The events in Sandau joined another incident on the same day in Elster. Here there was a collision between a ferry and a paddle boat where a man and a woman were. The man fell into the water, but could be saved by the ferry guide with a dinghy. He suffered slight hypothermia. There were several dogs in the paddle boat, one of which is still missing. These incidents illustrate the challenges associated with traffic on the Elbe.

Following the shocking events in Saxony-Anhalt, a serious accident on the Elbe in Hamburg was also reported. A cargo barge hit the "Övelgönne" passenger ferry, with eleven people being injured, including a person with life -threatening head injuries. The collision occurred shortly before 6:45 a.m. at the Köhlbrandbrücke. The ferry was significantly damaged in the collision, but was not in danger.

The fire brigade was in the alarm state and sent around 55 forces to the scene of the accident, which provided the passengers warming ceilings. A total of around 25 people were affected, with the exact number of passengers and employees unclear.
