The German Tug of War Championship will take place in Schönau on July 19th and 20th, 2025. This event, organized by the Böllen Tug of War Friends, promises exciting competitions and an extensive supporting program. The championship will be held on the Oberfeld in Schönau, where numerous spectators are expected to support the teams.
The weekend program is well-filled. On Saturday, July 19th, the day begins at 5:30 p.m. with the tapping of the barrel in the festival tent. The hobby teams will then be weighed in before the tournament officially starts at 6:30 p.m. The exciting competitions are followed by the award ceremony, where trophies and prizes are distributed. Musical entertainment will also be provided to celebrate the end of the day on Saturday.
Competitions and attractions
The German championship in the 640 kg class is on the program on Sunday, July 20th. In addition to the home teams from Böllen and TG Wieden-Siegelau, numerous teams are fighting for the title. Sunday's proceedings begin with the weigh-in of the teams at 11:00 a.m., followed by the competitions and the subsequent award ceremony for the German champions.
Another highlight on Sunday is the children's tractor pulling, which starts at 1 p.m. This will be followed by a tournament in the Landesliga-Baden in the 680 kg class at 1:30 p.m. The catering in the tent and at the beer fountain ensures the physical well-being of the spectators and participants. After the competitions there will be another celebration in the tent.
