Serious motorcycle accident in Schönau: Biker fights for his life!
On August 14th at around 12:20 p.m. there was a serious motorcycle accident in the Black Forest, more precisely on the L147 near Aitern, Schönau. A 63-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured. He hit the guard rail, presumably due to a driving error in a hairpin bend. A rescue helicopter was called and took the injured man to a nearby clinic. The material damage to the motorcycle amounts to around 3,000 euros, as reported by Südkurier.
The incident occurred just a day after other accidents in the region. On August 13th at 3:15 p.m. there was a collision between a Mercedes van and an Opel on the B500 near Waldshut. The Opel driver honked to draw attention to the accident, but the Mercedes van continued on its way. The Waldshut police have initiated an investigation and are looking for information about the vehicle that caused the incident.
More traffic accidents and incidents
Additionally, another traffic accident was recorded on August 13 at 12:40 p.m. A bus and a minibus struck each other on the L157 between Gurtweil and Weilheim, causing property damage amounting to 1,000 euros. The police are also looking for witnesses to clarify the question of guilt.
Also on the night of August 14th, there was an incident in Lörrach in which a 30-year-old man drove his Mercedes into a traffic light under the influence of alcohol. His alcohol level was almost 2 per mille. He was uninjured, but his vehicle had to be towed and the damage amounted to around 15,000 euros. The police temporarily withdraw his driver's license.
A break-in into a residential container in Albbruck on August 14th and another accident in Rheinfelden, in which an 81-year-old struck a parked vehicle, are other events that concern the police. In the accident in Rheinfelden, the damage to a Ford Kuga was around 10,000 euros and to a BMW around 15,000 euros. Luckily there were no injuries here.
Serious motorcycle accident in Eltville
A similar but less serious accident occurred in Eltville on August 9th. A 35-year-old man from Kiedrich overlooked a 24-year-old motorcyclist who had the right of way while turning. The motorcyclist suffered a hand injury and had to be taken to the Wiesbaden hospital. The material damage amounts to around 4,000 euros, and both vehicles remained drivable, which meant that traffic flow was not affected, as Presseportal reports.
The current situation highlights how important it is to drive carefully and responsibly on the road. The police appeal to all road users to always follow traffic rules and pay attention to safety.
