Leipzig-Stötteritz, Deutschland - On June 16, 2025, this year's “Kick den Krebs” benefit tournament took place in Leipzig-Stötteritz, in which the 1. FC Lok competed. This traditional tournament has been organized by parent help for children with cancer for 24 years and aims to offer support for children with cancer and their families. This time the event achieved an impressive donation amount that benefits from the psychosocial support of affected children. Offers such as art, music and sports therapy and psychological support are still urgently needed, since the costs are often not covered by health insurance companies. According to [MDR] (https://www.mdr.de/sport/fussball_pokal/kick-den-krebs-benefiturnier-Krebs- Kinder-Rose-Roehl-Rische-Livestream-100.html), around 50,000 euros have been collected in the past two years.
The tournament, in which 24 teams took part in four groups, began with the first encounter of the 1. FC Lok, which ended with a 0-1 defeat against the defending champion N39 Men's Hort. Despite this bitter disappointment, there was also positive news: the Decathlon team had to cancel at short notice, which gave the game of 1. FC Lok 2-0. The encounters against the LVB legends and BBG Amazon ended again goalless and presented the team with the challenge of not being qualified for the quarter-finals in the group phase. A derby against BSG chemistry had to be canceled for storms. Despite these setbacks, the tournament was very well received by spectators and participants.

In Group B, among others, sports in the east and the Team of the Parenthilfe competed, while in Group C the LVB legends, the BBG Amazone and 1. FC Lok Leipzig fought with chemistry Leipzig to move into the quarter-finals. The tournament was rounded off by Group D, which included the team window cleaner & Friends.
