RB Leipzig signs La Liga star Yan Diomande: A new talent for the Bundesliga!
RB Leipzig has signed a promising talent: Yan Diomande is moving from CD Leganés to the Bundesliga. The 1.80 meter tall winger, who is known for his outstanding physique and willingness to run, has signed a contract until June 30, 2030. He will wear the number 49 with his new team.
Diomande, who was trained in the USA, has already achieved impressive achievements in his career. In 2024 he was named top scorer in the USPL, the American youth league, and most valuable player in the final series. In January 2025 he took the step to Europe and moved to CD Leganés in the Spanish first division. He made his La Liga debut on March 29, 2025 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid.
Successful time in La Liga
In a total of ten games for Leganés, Diomande scored two goals and prepared another goal. This shows his potential and ability to compete in one of the best leagues in the world. RB Leipzig's sports director, Marcel Schäfer, describes the new signing as a “top talent”. However, he emphasizes that Diomande will need time to get used to the style of play in the Bundesliga and to learn the philosophy of new coach Ole Werner.
Diomande himself expresses his anticipation of the Bundesliga adventure and working with his new teammates. He will now use his strong performance in La Liga to establish himself in Germany and meet expectations. In particular, the experience he gained in the USPL and the Spanish league should help him.
With the signing of Yan Diomande, RB Leipzig shows that the club is counting on future success with young talent. The combination of exceptional speed, dribbling strength and finishing strength could soon prove to be a game changer for the coming season.
