Wheel loader thieves arrested: Investigators uncover organized crime!

On the night of August 4, 2025, a suspected theft occurred at a construction site in Krüssau. Unknown perpetrators enter the area without authorization and steal a wheel loader. This wheel loader was found in a forest near Grabow during the assembly, but the police are still looking for clues to solve the theft.

The police officers from the criminal investigation department then carried out a search and preservation of evidence in order to get to the bottom of the incident. The stolen device was ultimately returned to the construction site. Another incident occurred on August 5, 2025, when unknown perpetrators attached five swastikas with black spray paint to a railway underpass on Bahnhofstrasse in Biederitz. These atrocities, which had seditious content and were related to football, were discovered at 12:30 p.m. and the Police State Security took over the investigation.

Background to the wheel loader thieves

The issue of the wheel loader theft becomes even more complex when you consider the current investigations into organized crime. According to a report by Northern Courier Marco S. is introduced as the lead investigator. He is a senior criminal inspector from Rostock and plays a crucial role in solving cases related to the theft of construction equipment, especially wheel loaders. His colleagues are investigating Marcin G. (44 years old) and Marek K. (37 years old), who are accused of deliberately stealing construction machinery in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and other federal states between March and May 2024.

The two are accused of causing significant damage of around 700,000 euros, with the public prosecutor's office assuming 14 completed and 2 attempted thefts. The defendants admit 12 of the crimes, which shows a possible connection to the wheel loader that was recently stolen in Krüssau. A case from Wismar, in which a wheel loader worth 40,000 euros was stolen, is directly related to the ongoing investigation.

Investigations and arrests

Investigators discovered an important lead by analyzing cell phone data after a wheel loader was stolen. Through surveillance measures based on suspicious cell phone numbers, crucial clues to the perpetrators were identified. Conversations in which terms such as “unscrewing license plates” and “detector” for checking GPS transmitters in construction machines were used led to the arrest of G. and K., while another accomplice named S. was also evicted. The officers found numerous clues on the confiscated cell phones, including photos of construction equipment that were also sold at the Polish border.

While the investigation continues to progress, solving the wheel loader theft in Krüssau and combating organized crime in the region remains a central concern for the police. Local authorities are working closely to investigate the reasons behind these crimes and to strengthen further security measures for construction sites and public spaces. The speed check on August 5, 2025, in which a road user exceeded the maximum permissible speed of 50 km/h by 14 km/h, shows that the police are also paying attention to other safety-related aspects.

The reports from the region confirm once again how challenging the crime situation is and the need for united efforts to combat such crimes.
