The transport infrastructure in Saxony-Anhalt is receiving a significant upgrade as the state government orders measures to renovate two important transport axes. A new construction site will affect the L 52 between Theeßen and Grabow. The planned work includes milling and new construction of the upper asphalt layers up to a depth of 12 centimeters. Construction is scheduled to take around two months, with expected completion on September 12th. During this time the L 52 will be completely closed. The diversion leads via Drewitz (L 52), Lübars, Loburg (L 55) to Möckern (B 246), Stegelitz (B 246a), and back to the L 52. The formation of construction sections is intended to ensure accessibility for residents as well as garbage collection and the rescue service.

Renovation of the Körbelitz intersection

Parallel to the work on the L 52, renovation work will also begin on Monday, September 23rd at the intersection between the federal highway (B) 1 and the state highway (L) 52 in Körbelitz. According to information from Magdeburg clicks The renovation includes the lanes of the B 1 in the intersection area as well as the “branches” of the L 52 in the direction of Lostau and Körbelitz, each over 70 meters. The total costs for this measure also amount to around 1.5 million euros. The work is scheduled in such a way that it is coordinated with the conversion and expansion of the through-town road in Gerwisch. An existing diversion via B 184, B 246a and B 1 will be used.

Traffic management during construction work

The changed traffic routing at the Körbelitz intersection will bring with it some restrictions. Turning towards Lostau is possible from the Burg direction on one side under traffic light regulations, while turning to and from Körbelitz will not be possible. Access to Körbelitz will only be possible via Königsborn-Landhaus Zeddenick-Wörmlitz.
