On October 10, 2025, the inauguration of an impressive new attraction took place in the Porsche Experience Center Leipzig instead of. An oversized sculpture of the 911 silhouette caught the attention of visitors and Porsche enthusiasts.
This impressive statue, which was presented at the IAA Mobility in Munich in 2023, already had its first international appearance at the Aranya Theater Festival in China in 2024. The sculpture, which consists of around 5,000 individual steel parts, has a reusable roof structure and spans an area of 900 square meters. Gerd Rupp, CEO of Porsche Leipzig GmbH, emphasized the dimensions of the sculpture and its immense importance for the Leipzig location.
Significance and attractiveness of the Porsche Experience Center
Ragnar Schulte, Head of Experiential Marketing at Porsche AG, described the sculpture as a symbol of the stories and experiences associated with Porsche vehicles. The Porsche Experience Center Leipzig, one of ten worldwide, attracts around 70,000 visitors every year and offers a variety of opportunities to experience the fascination of Porsche up close.
Visitors have the opportunity to get active on the company's own circuit as well as in off-road terrain. The various offers include events, factory tours, driving experiences and vehicle pickup. Aurochs, Exmoor ponies and honey bees also live in the off-road area, which are supported by a natural grazing concept. The facility's entire grounds extend over 132 hectares and provide habitat for numerous wildlife and wild plants.
A look into production
The Porsche Experience Center Leipzig was opened in 2002 as a “customer center” and is the only one that is directly connected to a Porsche production facility. Here, visitors gain insights into the production of the popular Macan and Panamera model series. Manufacturing capabilities include highly flexible gasoline, hybrid and electric vehicles. The Cayenne off-road vehicle and the Carrera GT super sports car were also manufactured in Leipzig until 2017.
The location has distinguished itself through repeated awards, including the “Automotive Lean Production Award” in 2025 and the “Factory of the Year” award in 2023. These awards underline the innovative strength and quality for which the Porsche factory in Leipzig is known.
