Music festival in Dermbach: Over 300 guests at the anniversary of the Fête de la Musique!

On June 21, 2025, the Fête de la Musique took place in Dermbach, which has now become a popular event. The event started at 7:30 p.m. under the shady branch of Zobels Linde. Felicitas Kotsch opened the evening and welcomed over 300 guests, including numerous local celebrities.

Among those present included Mayor Thomas Hugk (CDU) from Lindenau, State Bishop Friedrich Kramer, superintendent Christoph Ernst as well as the Protestant pastor Silke Glöckner and the former Catholic pastor Benjamin Agbara. Pastor Ulrich Pasenow could not participate due to business obligations. The Fête de La Musique has been celebrated in Dermbach since 2018 and has developed into a highlight of the community in this short time.

A growing tradition

The festival was originally launched in France in 1982 and has spread worldwide. Today the Fête is celebrated in around 1,300 cities in over 120 countries. The first years in Dermbach were more modest; In 2018, the event started with around 80 visitors. This year, the organizers were happy about more than 300 participants, including international guests from cities such as Tokyo and Toronto, who contributed to the musical atmosphere.

The event was organized by the "Heavenly Voices", the trombone choir and a mini band under the direction of Eberhard Mäurer. The evening was an opportunity for everyone to actively participate themselves and bring their own songs with them. The visitors brought food, chairs and friends to create a festive atmosphere together.

Musical program

The musical repertoire included numerous songs such as "no beautiful country", "About seven bridges", "Dancing in the Dark" and the classic "Aloha He". A highlight of the evening was the session with the band, in which spontaneous soloists also performed. The piece "Stairway to Heaven", which for many, was particularly popular.

The goal for the coming years, encouraged by the positive influx, is to establish the Fête de la Musique in Dermbach in the long term as long as the Heavenly voices remain. In the anniversary year 2025 it was a special honor that state bishop Friedrich Kramer designed part of the program with his guitar and thus celebrated the coexistence in the community.

Overall, the Fête de la Musique was not only a musical celebration, but also a moment of coming together and intercultural exchange, which strengthens and enriches the village community. The positive response from the participants sets a promising impulse for future events in Dermbach.
