Classical meets fairy tales: organ summer with small prince in Holzhausen

Holzhausen, Deutschland - On July 13, 2025, Holzhausen turned into a cultural focus when the organist Bastian Uhlig from Gotha gave a very special concert. Under the title "The Little Prince", he brought Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's work of the same name to the stage, accompanied by the narrator Laura Birkenfeld. The event attracted numerous guests of the organ summer and was opened by Gabi Damm, who warmly welcomed those present.

The concert took place on the historic Hesse organ, which was built between 1788 and 1803 and carefully restored. This organ is a real jewel and with its 19 registers on two manuals and pedals offers a sound experience of the extra class. The marbled key fronts that make the organ into a unique instrument are particularly remarkable.

a dream comes true

With this concert,

Bastian Uhlig fulfilled a long -cherished dream. The training at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the Weimar University of Music, which he has completed with distinction, makes him an internationally recognized soloist and continuo player on harpsichord, organ and fortepiano. His previous appearances included concerts for Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Bavarian Radio and the Real Filharmonía de Galicia.

The musical performance during the concert included works by composers such as Rheinberger, Krebs and Rüppe. The combination of narrative art and organ music gave the classic "The Little Prince" a very special note and touched the hearts of those present.

a cultural experience

Entry to this unique event was 15 euros, and culinary delights from the Rosenhof were offered during the event. Laura Birkenfelder, the theater teacher and actress, brings an impressive vita. She studied at the Stuttgart Theater Academy and is currently acting in Hamburg Dungeon.

The Hesse organ itself has a rich history. She learned several conversions over the years, including from Ernst Ludwig Hesse and Friedrich Meißner. After serious structural damage, it was outsourced in 1928, but rebuilt in 1929 and restored by organ building Waltershausen GmbH from 2014 to 2017. The aim of this restoration was to restore the original state of 1867.

It was not just a concert for the audience, but an impressive experience that combined music and literature in a historical framework. The organ summer in Holzhausen remains an important event that offers cultural highlights and helps to promote love for music.
