Several incidents have occurred in Leipzig in the last few days that put the police on high alert. This ranges from vehicle thefts to an explosive explosion that resulted in a large police presence.

On October 9th, a gray Ford Kuga with the registration number L-KU 600 and a red Toyota RAV 4 (L-NM 1624) in the Miltitz district were stolen in the Grünau-Nord district. The Ford is worth around 36,000 euros, while the Toyota is valued at around 30,000 euros. Both vehicles are wanted while the police are investigating particularly serious theft.
Later, on October 10th, there was another theft of a white Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6. The car is worth 80,000 euros and was stolen in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg between the evening hours of October 10th and the morning of October 11th. All three incidents show a worrying pattern that keeps security authorities on their toes.
Witness information leads to arrests
In another series of vehicle thefts, two Renault Trafic vans that were parked in Lieberwolkwitz and Rötha were stolen on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. A witness reported one of these vans in a private parking lot in Rackwitz, whereupon the police arrived and began investigating. Ultimately, the tip led to the arrest of three Polish men (23, 25 and 30 years old) who were observed at the crime scene on Wednesday evening. The police also reported on burned out vehicles. On October 11th at 11:00 p.m., a paper container on Brambacher Strasse in the Grünau settlement was set on fire, affecting two vehicles.
