On October 17, 2025, federal police in Zittau caught two Bulgarian cigarette smugglers aged 20 and 29. The men were driving their Bulgarian car on the B 178n and wanted to enter Germany, but were noticed during a check.
The police discovered several black packages in the vehicle and in the trunk. When asked directly, the men explained that they were cigarettes for their relatives in Germany. But appearances were deceptive: a total of 12,200 cigarettes with Bulgarian tax stamps were confiscated. A clear case of smuggling that led to rapid intervention by the authorities!
