Romanian driver arrested at border crossing with arrest warrant

On August 11, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., a 28-year-old Romanian was checked by the Chemnitz Federal Police Inspectorate at the border crossing in Reitzenhain. When the man was checked, an explosive discovery was made: there was an arrest warrant issued against him by the Bayreuth public prosecutor's office for drunk driving.

The federal police forces acted quickly and safely to clarify the situation. The man who showed up at the border with a criminal background is now in custody. A clear indication that no consideration is given to the law, not even at the borders!
