Collision at Leipzig Central Station: Two trams crash into each other!

On Sunday evening there was a crash at the central stop at Leipzig main station: two trams collided head-on! A 54-year-old driver was traveling east on his train when a switch was not changed correctly. Instead of turning onto Goethestrasse, the train raced straight ahead - with catastrophic consequences!

The collision happened when an oncoming train heading towards the central station hit the unfortunate tram. Two women, 27 and 69 years old, suffered minor injuries and had to be treated as outpatients on site. Fortunately, they were able to leave medical care quickly. The material damage is estimated at a whopping 200,000 euros. The police have started an investigation into negligent bodily harm. A dramatic evening in Leipzig!
