Border shock in Reitzenhain: Romanian arrested without fine!

On December 28, 2025, the Chemnitz Federal Police Inspectorate carried out a check at the Reitzenhain border crossing, which had serious consequences for a 54-year-old Romanian. The man went to the immigration check and was immediately arrested because of two existing arrest warrants from the Ellwangen public prosecutor's office. The accusation: drunk driving! Since he was unable to pay the required fine of over 3,000 euros, he was immediately taken to the Zwickau correctional facility.

Just a few hours earlier, at 3:50 a.m., a 29-year-old German federal police officer fell into the net. He had an arrest warrant from the Erfurt public prosecutor's office for endangering road traffic. But a blessing in disguise: He was able to pay the required fine of over 1,700 euros and was allowed to continue his journey. In addition, a 36-year-old Romanian was checked on Christmas Eve and was also confronted with an arrest warrant from the Itzehoe public prosecutor's office. However, with a payment of over 80 euros he was able to secure entry into Germany.
