Dresden Fire Department: Dramatic rescue after a fence accident and basement fire!

In Dresden, the rescue service provided a record-breaking number of 236 alerts in the last 24 hours, including 64 missions with emergency doctors and one mission by the Christoph 38 rescue helicopter. Other missions included 214 qualified patient transports. However, the fire brigade was also called upon and responded to six fire cases, as well as 17 technical support cases, ranging from traffic accidents to leaking resources.

An operation in Cotta was particularly dramatic when a 66-year-old man got stuck between two spikes of a cast-iron fence. Firefighters freed him and after immediate resuscitation by the team, he was stabilized and transported to the hospital. The police asked questions about the exact circumstances of his accident. Another alert included a basement fire in an apartment building on Harthaer Strasse, where 35 residents were evacuated. Six people received help on site for minor smoke inhalation, while the fire brigade brought the fire under control and carried out subsequent ventilation measures. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
