Exchanging counterfeit money ends in a fight: Leipzig Federal Police intervened

A 35-year-old German caused a stir at Leipzig Central Station on Sunday when he tried to exchange a counterfeit $100 bill at the travel bank. The attentive bank employees quickly discovered that it was counterfeit money and alerted the federal police.

Officials were also able to confirm that the note was not genuine. The man apparently did not have to accept the results of the investigation and attacked the police officers. Now the perpetrator, who is known to the police, is facing several investigations: placing counterfeit money on the market, physical attacks on law enforcement officers, resistance and insults. The counterfeit banknote was seized as evidence.
