An alcoholic 35-year-old cyclist was involved in an accident on Thursday evening when he crashed his e-bike into a parked Ford van without braking. The incident occurred on Conrad-Clauss-Straße, directly after Schillerstraße. The man sustained minor injuries that had to be treated in hospital.
The sad truth: A breath alcohol test showed an alarming blood alcohol level of 2.26 - the cyclist was obviously very drunk. He is now awaiting trial for endangering road traffic. The damage to the two vehicles totals around 6,000 euros.
