Leipzig Organ Academy 2025: Master class with international stars!
The IX. The European Organ Academy will take place this year from July 16th to August 10th, 2025 at the “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” University of Music and Theater in Leipzig. Since its founding in 2007, the academy has not only offered a variety of top-class concerts, but also master classes for aspiring organists. The artistic direction since 2017 has been Prof. Dr. Martin Schmeding took over after Prof. Stefan Engels held this position until 2015.
As part of the academy, participants are taught on important organs in Leipzig, including the Eule organ in the HMT Great Hall and the Collon organ in the Chamber Music Hall. Lessons also take place in historic churches in the region, and you can experience the magnificent Silbermann organs in Rötha, the Vleugels organ in the Chemnitz Castle Church and the historic Richter organ in Pomßen.
Versatile program
The European Organ Academy has set itself the goal of introducing students to various register combinations, different organ building styles and different ways of interpreting them. The program includes master classes, public concerts and lectures that take place at various locations in Leipzig and the surrounding area.
Numerous renowned guest lecturers have announced themselves for this year's course. These include, among others:
