The big gymnastics festival is taking place in Leipzig today and will be celebrated from May 28th to June 1st, 2025. The organizers expect impressive results750,000 guests, includingnow around 80,000 active athletesfrom all over Germany and abroad. These numbers even exceed the city's population. The participants include:5,000 from abroadthat in total23 disciplineswill compete. The gymnastics festival takes place at more than...50 locationstook place in Leipzig, including the Leipzig Trade Fair, the Red Bull Arena and the Bruno Plache Stadium. Tickets are available online and cost between20 and 50 euros.
Security precautions and visitor flows
In order to cope with the huge rush, the police have taken extensive security precautions. On the occasion of the gymnastics festival1,500 additional police officersdeployed to ensure public safety. The city center is throughphysical barriersprotected, and special fire brigade teams are also deployed, such as mdr.de indicates.
Another part of the security measures includes the arrival ofspecial trainsfrom southwest Germany, including from the Baden Gymnastics Association. These trains have special entertainment in the form of party cars to make the journey more enjoyable for the guests. A celebration for the whole family
The supporting program of the gymnastics festival promises varied entertainment and does justice to the occasion. An international gala entitled “We are the World” will take place on May 29th at the Quarterback Real Estate Arena. Another highlight is the stadium gala on May 31st in the Red Bull Arena, where artists such as the “Prinzen”, the parallel bars world champion Lukas Dauser and the Olympic champion Darja Varfolomeev will perform. On June 1st there will also be a “Rendezvous of the Best” with 15 show groups in the Quarterback Real Estate Arena.
