University of Leipzig surprises: first Summa cum laude” ice cream impresses everyone!
The University of Leipzig has developed a very special type of ice cream in collaboration with the ice cream manufacturer San Remo. This has the illustrious name “Summa cum laude” and is the first ice cream flavor to be created by a German university. The innovative idea behind this project combines the love of ice cream and the commitment to education.
The ice cream flavor is made with high-quality Greek yogurt, fruity raspberry sauce and fine chocolate and offers a double pleasure: a scoop of ice cream costs 2.70 euros, with 50 cents going directly to the Green School in the Leipzig Botanical Garden. This support project aims to promote education through tasty delights. In addition, the ice cream is now available in all four San Remo branches in Leipzig, which makes it easy to treat yourself to this treat.
Special sales events and promotions
The “Summa cum laude” ice cream is not only sold in ice cream parlors, but is also offered at selected university events. Visitors can enjoy the new creation at the university ball on July 4th and at the summer festival on August 21st. In addition, special promotions and discounts are planned for the Long Night of Sciences in order to introduce the ice cream to a wider audience on one of the most exciting evenings of the year. The initiative runs until October 31, 2025, giving ice cream lovers enough time to try the ice cream creation.
