Olbrückkicker triumph at the fun fair football tournament in Niederdenbach!
This year, the fair in Niederdürenbach was once again a happy festival for young and old. On October 8, 2025, the guests celebrated an event in the Olbrückhalle dedicated to Saint Thecla. The Old Men of Niederdürenbach and the Niederdürenbach Carnival Association (NDKV) were the organizers and provided a colorful program that brought a lot of joy to the visitors. With the ideal weather in September, which was expected to continue this weekend, numerous activities took place.
A highlight of the festival was the football tournament for leisure teams, which was held again. The Olbrückkickers were able to prevail against their competitors in the exciting penalty shootout and fight for the title of the counter tournament. This reflected the sporting spirit and the joy of community, for which the event is known.
Diverse children's program and musical entertainment
A varied children's program was offered for younger festival visitors. Several bouncy castles invited people to jump, and various creative activities such as a raffle, craft activities and the design of magic wands and glitter tattoos ensured that there was no chance of boredom. Blick currently reported that the attractions for children in combination with the rousing music from Mary’s Revival Band rounded off the festival on Sunday. These performances not only created a pleasant atmosphere, but were also very well received by visitors.
The fun fair traditionally ended with coffee, cake and refreshing drinks, which offered a nice opportunity to exchange ideas with friends and neighbors and review the experiences of the day.
Traditions and community spirit
The event was not only organized in honor of Saint Thecla, but is also an important part of social life in Niederdürenbach. Over the years, the fair has become an integral part of village life in autumn, as has the fair in Hain, which is celebrated annually in honor of St. Wendelinus. Here too, the traditional Mass atmosphere is characterized by a wreath-laying at the memorial and a convivial atmosphere.
In Niederdürenbach, the local community supports the organization of the fair financially and thus ensures that the festival continues in the future. Special attention is paid to making the program attractive to all age groups, so that both families and friends can enjoy the celebrations together. The community provides detailed information about future events on their website.
