The ZDF series “I'm Marrying a Family” enjoyed enormous popularity in the 1980s and achieved market shares of up to 46 percent. This family comedy, which has a total of 14 episodes, is still broadcast today and is therefore an integral part of German television. Kino.de reports, that the story about Angie Graf, played by Thekla Carola Wied, has a few twists and turns that affect the lives of Angie and her three children.

Angie, the owner of a boutique and divorced, begins a relationship with Werner Schumann, played by Peter Weck. This relationship takes a critical turn when Angie initially leaves her partner in the dark about her children. The children finally enter Angie and Werner's lives after the wedding and create a number of amusing and sensitive situations.
