KarliBeben 2025: The spectacular comeback of the street festival in Leipzig!
On September 13, 2025, the time has finally come: after an eight-year break, the popular street festival “KarliBeben” returns and brings a breath of fresh air to Karl-Liebknecht-Straße in Leipzig. Loud Urbanite The event was originally launched to support the bars and local restaurants along Karl-Liebknecht-Straße. However, the festival has struggled in the past with high requirements, organizational challenges and a lack of funding, which led to the extended break.
This year's KarliBeben promises a varied program for all visitors. The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will be limited to an area of 260 meters on the corner of Karl-Liebknecht-Straße and Scharnhorststraße. The entire event is free and barrier-free, which is a key concern of the organizers. Immediately following the festivities, there will be an after-show party at Club Velvet from 11 p.m., entry is €10; students only pay €5.
Program and line-up
Numerous artists will perform on several stages. The organizer KarliBeben e.V. and local contributors have put together a program that includes live music of various genres. The Waldbühne on Heinrich-Schütz-Platz is enlivened by artists such as HeXer, BLÜTEN and the Leipzig University Orchestra. At the same time, acts such as GLU and Medium Green are expected on the Wiesenbühne at Alexis-Schumann-Platz. VISO & VANO and Larry Love, among others, will perform in the cozy living room stage at the Immanuel Kant High School.
A newly introduced aspect of the festival is the initiative to promote neighborhood and creative energy in Leipzig. In addition to the music, there will also be art and hands-on activities in which the community will be involved. The offering is complemented by street food and local drinks, which make the festival a pleasure for all the senses.
Commitment to social causes
Another important point is the social responsibility of the event. Virtual tickets are available with a freely selectable amount, the proceeds of which are donated to social projects. The KarliBeben team invites everyone to support the awareness team or become part of the festival as a folder. For current information and updates, those interested can follow the Instagram channel @karlibeben.
The after-show party in the Velvet Club offers a varied program that is divided across two floors: The main floor features pop, indie and hip-hop from artists such as $mon and Gigispears, while on the 2nd floor techno, house and trance with gin and ScrappyCoc await the listeners.
The KarliBeben 2025 not only celebrates a cultural highlight, but also sets a strong example for the community and creative diversity in Leipzig. Be there when the festival brings Karl-Liebknecht-Straße to life again!
