Seehausen, Deutschland - On Thursday, June 19, 2025, an accident occurred at the Corpus Christi procession in Seehausen on Lake Staffel. At around 9.30 a.m. a part of a pedestrian wood bridge collapsed when believers and spectators had gathered on the approximately 30 meter long jetty. The accident led to slight to moderate injuries to two people.

How the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the exact circumstances of the bridge fall are still unclear. The police have initiated investigations to clarify the cause of the submitting wood. The Corpus Christi procession itself did not lead to the affected bridge, but it was an important location for many visitors to observe the festive event.

During the procession, numerous spectators gathered on the eastern bank when a wooden pillar of the bridge added and partially collapsed. Among the injured was a 79-year-old viewer from Seehausen, who suffered a headplace wound and pain in the cervical vertebrae. In addition, a 72-year-old holidaymaker from Thuringia was injured, who fell on a pillar with her back. Both people were brought to the Murnau accident clinic for treatment.
