On June 30, 2025, an justifiable incident on the B189 federal highway between Buchholz and Lüderitz caused a stir. At around 5:40 p.m., the engine compartment of a truck driven by a 27-year-old began to smoke. The driver reacted promptly and parked the vehicle on a cycle path. All three occupants were able to get out uninjured before the fire spread. The fire was originally confined to the engine compartment, but the entire vehicle was soon ablaze. Another event occurred earlier on the same day when a forest fire was reported in a forest near Berkau at 1:30 p.m. The exact cause is still unknown, but the volunteer fire department was able to completely extinguish the fire here too. Around 500 square meters of forest area were affected and the criminal police were also investigating this incident.
Traffic accident in Seehausen
On July 1, 2025 at 5:16 a.m. there was a traffic accident in Seehausen on Lindenstrasse. A 58-year-old truck driver stopped, but then reversed and overlooked a passenger car driven by a 27-year-old woman. She suffered minor injuries and there was damage to both vehicles.
